Primary Schools Cross Country Races Sunday, October 7th, 2007 - East Court This page has the overall results and the medallists. The Boys page has all positions and times from the boys' race, and the Girls page has the full results from the girls' race. They both have a lot of names on, so they will take a little time to download. Another fantastic day for the Primary Schools Cross-Country Championships at East Court. The morning was a bit misty and murky as the early workers got everything ready, but by the time of the races it was bright and warm - and perhaps most importantly it was dry. The girls race got things under way at 2pm with a lap of the upper field before a full circuit of the field. Leading them home was 2006's fourth finisher, Gemma Francis, from Copthorne School. Just behind was Jaynie Clayton with another Copthorne runner, Eleanor Killick-Bird (last year's 5th) just behind. Annabel King from The Meads was next home, just finishing ahead of Tamsin Fitzgerald of St Peter's. The last medal placing went to Imogen Blythe from St John's in Crowborough. The boys were faced with two circuits and it was 2006's winner, Edward Stowell from Blackwell, leading the field home again. Copthorne's Elliot Westgate was second ahead of Halsford Park's Myles Pitts. Sam Firmager from Notre Dame was next home closely followed by Halsford Park's second finisher in Phillip Johnson (a new club member) with George Brassett sixth for Stoke Brunswick. After a wait for the computer to work out the team positions it was Notre
Dame well ahead in the girls race with St Peter's probably surprising
themselves in second place. Stoke Brunswick came in third. The boys race
had a very similar pattern with Notre Dame's boys matching their girls.
Halsford Park were second with Stoke Brunswick again third in the team
event. Boys Schools Results
